Who are we?
We are a small, privately run Equestrian & Mental Health Facility in the heart of South Gippsland. We cater for individuals and groups (families, couples, work teams, friends) keen to explore personal growth and change within a supportive Equine centred environment. We offer Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning, Room & Zoom based Counselling, Equine Experiences and an Intensive Residential Equine Assisted Counselling.
Horses are an integral part of our therapy as their non-verbal feedback and presence can be powerful. When a person makes a change in behaviour, feeling or intention, the horse’s response changes. Non-verbal feedback from horses can be powerful and effect change with clients, including those unable to verbalise or reflect. We can use horses to explore, discover and practice our newfound social skills to bring about a new way of being in contact with others that is rewarding and satisfying.
We incorporate horses in the process of emotional growth and learning. When we are engaging with horses we are intrinsically linked, physically, emotionally and energetically. Being in close proximity to a horse can be deeply soothing with the presence of calm and healthy horses can contributing to feelings of calm, confidence and trust in ‘others’. The outcome is a collaborative effort between the practitioner, the clients and the horses. Experiences with a herd can include: exploration of relationships, behaviour patterns, challenges and traumatic events.
Our horses offer an authentic, honest relationship free of judgment or interpretation. Their heightened sensitivity and natural instincts mean they respond to subtle changes in the world around them, including each person, uniquely. Our horses offer the client immediate and sometimes profound feedback.
I currently have a herd of 10 horses of various sizes, ages and breeds.
