The most important members of our team are of course our herd. We currently have 7 horses, each offering their own unique experiences. We work with our team as a herd or, where suitable, as individuals carefully matched to our clients needs. All horses live on the property in a herd environment where possible.
Leon was born in 2001, a Quarter horse that I have owned since he was just 10 months old. He is curious and playful, and highly sensitive. He is used for our led activities as he is generous with his patience. He is also very sensitive and very clear with his yes and his no.
Jinxi is a cheeky welsh mountain pony that has called Spinosa of Hoddle home since 2012. He is popular with our smaller clients. While patient, he can be a little cheeky and stubborn, but has a heart as big as an ox. He likes to feel that his opinions are acknowledged.
Ella is the glamorous addition to the herd. She is an Arabian Warmblood x Thoroughbred. She is super clever, sweet but knows how to put the boys in their place. She can be extremely loving and gentle, and loves to interact with people.
Blackie (Black Ebony)
Formerly a Harness racehorse and then used as a brood mare Blackie has been with us since 2013. Previously a brood mare she is enjoying retirement with the late discovery of treats!! She has really come a long way since she arrived here, losing a lot of her anxiety and aggression and discovering she can communicate what she needs.
Ollie is a very cheeky Tobiano paint x Thoroughbred that joined our herd from Queensland almost in 2014.
He’s taken a little while to learn how to be in the herd and is now found his place. He can be very sensitive but once he has you in his sights you won’t get away with out giving him a scratch.
Oh my partner Tim has described Shayanna as my ‘Spirit Mum’. She is powerful and strong yet loving, nurturing and sweet, and likes to take on the Sentinel role in the herd. Shayanna is a lovely Quarter horse mare with a soft kinds eye. Sustaining a leg injury as a young horse she has been a brood mare with 3 foals to her name, including Tyson below.
Tyson arrived here just a month old with his mum Shayanna. This gave us the opportunity to ensure he received a safe space from which to explore the world . Consequently he is super confident, cheeky and is always getting into mischief and often described as the cool kid in the herd.
Ruby is a gorgeous petite Stock Horse x Welshie. She is a lady with very strong opinions and very clearly communicated whether she is happy or not to you. She is a little healer, but only of her choosing.
Danny & Harrison
Danny and Harrison arrived her in 2020 shortly after the fires in Eastern Gippsland. They are a dynamic duo and are excellent to work with young children or adults preferring to start with something a little smaller. Photos to come
